So you want to be a Real Estate Investor. Great news for you, there are many homes to pick from that make great flip houses or rental houses. Where do you begin? The easy answer is to decide what your short term and long term goals are. Once you have done that you will know what you are looking for. Here are some ideas to help you get started on the right path to Real Estate Investing Success.

1. Have a Plan: This will include how much money you are willing to invest, how much time you are willing to invest and most of all what are you trying to accomplish with your plan. Are you looking for long term appreciation with a steady income? If so you should be looking at Rental Properties. Are you looking to make a great return on your investment in a short period of time? If so you need to be looking for great flip opportunities.

2. Hire a Professional: Yes this is extremely important. A great seasoned Full Time Real Estate Agent, can guide and direct you to the properties that will yield you the highest return. They can also assist with the negotiations so you can get a better deal all the way around including some creative financing options.

3. Fund the Deals: This is a very important step in the process. If you have the cash to work with that will be your best option. If you have great credit and can invest 30% of the selling price there are loans available for you. Or you can get creative by securing the property with an option and share the wealth with the property owner.

4. ACT: The fastest way to lose the support of your Real Estate Agent or any potential sellers is to not act on your decision. If you are not in a position to pull the trigger then don’t start looking at property.
